This pom pom scarf is one of my favorite projects. It’s a relatively simple crochet scarf and the pom poms are easy to add. I even made a quick video for you to follow! Check it out below.
I have already shared with you how to crochet a scarf with a loom, and you can visit that post and video by going here. You are going to need to have the “scarf part” finished for the rest of this post.
Making these scarves is not only fun but also therapeutic. It’s such an easy and almost monotonous task that allows your mind to just relax and allows you to unwind.
DIY Crochet Pom Pom Scarf
When you are using a rectangular loom for this scarf, you do not have to use the entire length of the loom. I actually only use a little less than half of the loom, a total of 8 rows. As you can see from the pictures, it is a small toddler-sized scarf. Anything bigger would have swallowed her up.
To finish this scarf and add the Pom Poms you will need:
- 4 12″ strands of yarn
- 1 pom pom maker and yarn for pom poms
- scissors
- crochet scarf
Check out the video below and you will see just how easy it is to create the pom-poms and how to attach them to your scarf. It’s a simple project that adds a lot of character to your scarf.
To see how I finished up this scarf, head over to this quick video here.
I hope you enjoy it and make a cute little toddler scarf soon. DIY Crochet Scarf with Pom Poms.

Lucy has *really* gotten into scarves this year. She would wear one every day if she could. I think I’m going to gather your posts together and sit down with her and make some over Christmas break. She will be in heaven having something fun to do…and have scarves at the end. Win-Win!! –Lisa

Well….it is the PERFECT time of the year to wear scarves! You should totally get her a loom and let her crochet her own scarf. You could also teach her the fast and quick arm knitting. She will pick that up and run with it. So many fun things you can do to make these.

Thanks Julie, my mom taught me how to crochet to keep me occupied when I was younger, and now I just do it whenever I get the chance. I love making things for the family, it’s so rewarding Thanks for stopping by!

Scarlet is sitting on my lap right now (seriously, she won’t get off) and she exclaimed that she has the same red ruffle coat from Target as your little girl! Now she wants a matching scarf too.

She is adorable… and that scarf: love it! One of my best received gifts last year was a pom pom scarf… and I kept thinking if only I could make this, I’d give one to everyone for that reaction. Now, maybe I can!! Thank you!!!

Thanks so much! I made her a matching hat…but she didn’t want anything to do with it. Luckily my teenager loves crocheted hats and took it off of her hands. 🙂
