Welcome back as we celebrate scarf week here at PinkWhen! I am such a huge fan of scarves, I just couldn’t have scarf week again without a DIY Fleece Scarf with my FAVORITE College Football team colors. I actually almost nixed this post because my Tigers lost last weekend and I was still harboring a grudge…but I looked at the brighter side and realized that our defense is still young. OK.
I had to abruptly end that paragraph because I was about to go all college football talk on you and what you REALLY want to know if how to make this fun scarf! So let’s get started!
First of all, this is a sewing project….but never fear, it is a Simple Sew project that I am sharing here! (Whew!) No worries, I always tell you my machine is smarter than I am…but all you really need to do is sew some simple straight lines.
DIY Fleece Scarf
To get started, let’s gather the materials we need:
- 2 6″ x 72″ pieces of fleece
- sewing machine
First, take your pieces of fleece , place them on top of each other, and sew a straight stitch right down the middle.
After you have done your straight stitch down the middle, you are going to do two more. But this time you are going to do one straight stitch about an inch to the left of the middle stitch, and then you are going to do a straight stitch an inch over to the right of the middle stitch. When you finish, you will have a total of 3 straight lines going down your fabric.
After you have finished your lines, take your scissors and every couple of inches make a cut in each piece of fleece about an inch or so long on each side of your scarf.
Once you are finish with that, you are all finished!
Such a quick and easy project, minimal sewing, and a great way to share your team spirit! I hope you enjoyed this DIY Fleece Scarf project. Make sure to come back tomorrow…I have saved the BEST for LAST!!
