Lemon and Coconut Sugar Body Scrub

Lemon and Coconut Sugar Body Scrub

I have been saving this DIY Lemon and Coconut Body Scrub for a long time, waiting for the right time of year to share! With the summer getting so close, and working to try and get somewhat beach ready, I knew it was time to give my skin a good scrubbing!

Learn more about using your essential oils here!

Make your own Sugar Scrub

Why are sugar scrubs so popular, and why does everyone from spas and salons sell them? That’s easy, because they are WONDERFUL for your skin, and your skin is the largest “organ” you have. Naturally you want to take good care of it, and why not pamper yourself why you are at it? Scrubs help remove dead skin cells and leave your skin looking and feeling much healthier. You can always go and buy a nice scrub at a salon, but why not make something you can use over and over and love the results just as much? Not to mention, you know exactly what is in your scrub, and don’t have to worry about other possible harmful additives.

There are a lot of DIY Sugar Scrubs recipes you can find on the internet, but I bet you will find this scrub as one of the best once you try it!

The first thing you want to do is gather your ingredients (affiliate links):

  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 4 tsp coconut oil (warmed 30 seconds to transfer to liquid form)
  • Lemon essential oil (10 drops)
  • 1 tsp yellow coloring (used to make soaps, etc.)
  • 1 tsp Vitamin E oil
  • a container of your choosing to hold your new scrubs

Mix your ingredients together well, and then store them into your chosen container.

Make sure when you are using your scrubs to be careful in the bathtub or shower if you use a glass container like shown here. We don’t want any accidents!

I have found the best way to enjoy and see the best results from your scrub is to soak in a tub for a few minutes, and then use your sugar scrub. You will notice a HUGE difference when you emerge. Not to mention, the combined smells of the lemon and coconut is heavenly!!
These little scrubs are also a wonderful gift idea for friends and family. Just add a little label for personalization and you have the perfect gift. (Use a Silhouette machine if you have one!)
