I love making Ear Warmer headbands, (in case you didn’t know that little fact). You know, I think it is becoming just as addictive as making scarves! I have made a few. One of my favorites I have made to date is the Minky Rose Ear Warmer Headband.

Simple DIY Minky Ear Warmer Headband Tutorial

To get started, I used both fleece and minky rose material for this project. I just love how soft the minky is, and the camel color is beautiful.

Ear Warmer Headband

  • 5″ x 22″ long minky rose material
  • 5″ x 22″ off white fleece material
  • sewing supplies

Step 1: Cut your fabric to the length needed. because we all have different sized heads, make sure you measure before cutting to have the correct length for YOUR head. While I measure mine at 21 1/2″, I round up to 22″ so I can account for a little room….and some thick hair!

Step 2: With right sides together, sew a straight stitch down the length of both sides about 1/4″, leaving the ends open.

Step 4: Join the ends of the headband, making a circle, and place two straight stitches join and close the ends. (since the material is fluffy, you don’t see these stitches joining the piece together.)

I have been whipping these ear warmers out all week long and am loving the fun little creations I have been coming up with. While I started out with the standard fleece ear warmer, I have had to progress and see what else I could come up with.

I am loving all of the faux fur that has been making a comeback lately, so my next headband will be one furry and warm headband! I can’t wait to share that one with you.

Remember the ear muffs of our youth? That had those terrible plastic middle parts that would nearly impale your head. Anyway, these are a very warm and nice change from those days!

Oh I totally remember the ear muffs…every time the kiddos place the headphones on their ears it reminds me of them…and every time Addy cries because of how uncomfortable they are….I am reminded why I didn’t like them! LOL.

Ahhhh… yes. That looks so adorable and so WARM. I could definitely go for one of those right now. My ears are so cold. And so is my poor nose!
