We created this schedule for homeschool that is working for us. It’s an easy homeschool schedule that our Elementary student is able to follow while working through all of her subjects. Grab the free printable below!
Simple Schedule for Homeschool
I have to admit this is the first time I have ever been a homeschool parent. All of my children have been in school their entire lives. While I was a little scared and unsure of what we should do, I finally came up with an easy schedule that works for our little one.
The biggest obstacle I encountered was how long should she be studying and working on content. I didn’t want to overwhelm her, but I wanted to make sure she had an adequate amount of time on each subject area.
Time Spent on Homeschool Subjects
Like me, my daughter is not an early morning person. It takes us a little extra time to wake up in the morning. I created this schedule to allow her to wake up easily, eat breakfast, and start on her early morning chores.
Our daily homeschool schedule consists of 45 minutes of each subject every day. We’ve created this plan based on her school days and school work that she would normally accomplish in traditional school.
While our weekly schedules have been changing, I have found that young children like my daughter adapt to this schedule relatively easily. We do try and stick to these simple daily schedules 5 days a week.
I am not your everyday homeschool mom, but I hope this simple plan helps all of my other non-traditional homeschool families and friends.
What Are Other Activities We Are Doing?
While this is a different time in our lives with the mandatory stay at home sequestering, we are finding different ways to have recess. (When it’s not raining that is!) 🙂
- Walking the dog
- Kitchen Fun (baking, and making aprons)
- Game time
- Neighborhood field trips (just walking around outside for some Vitamin D)
