How often do you find a meal you love? Do you cook it over and over, and then get tired of it and never want it again? Well that’s probably never going to happen with this. It’s like my Best Chili Recipe, you will never get tired of it. This really is THAT good. I love sharing slow cooker recipes, and this slow cooker chicken and dumplings recipe is a keeper. While it only takes 6 hours, it tastes like you have been slaving over it all day long.
In the winter I love to use my slow cooker for soups and stews, and this chicken and dumplings recipe is on the top of the list. Not only is it easy, but you will want to make it over and over because it tastes so good. If you have leftovers, they won’t be around for long!
Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
To get started you will need a few things, and you probably already have most of them in your pantry at home. (Besides the chicken, of course!)
Ingredients:
- 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cans condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 Tbsp flour
- 2 cups water
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 2 tsp poultry seasoning
- 1 tsp parsley
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 can of biscuits ( I used Pillsbury® Grands)
- 4 tbsp butter
Place Slow Cooker on high.
Add chicken breasts, butter, water, soup, flour, onion, poultry seasoning, pepper, and parsley. Stir and mix well. Cook on high for 4 hours. Take two forks and start shredding chicken in the slow cooker.
After the chicken is shredded, tear pieces of biscuit dough and place in slow cooker for remaining 2 hours. Stirring occasionally.
