When I started this idea for a simple student desk, I never imagined being able to make it the perfect fit for her room. We had very little room to work with, we opted to go with a simple style that we designed. It truly fits in every way, color, size, and style. In fact, I will show you a little more of her room at the end so you understand the scheme we chose for her desk.
I really love the way the chevron jars with the faux chalkboard labels turned out! They are the perfect addition to her desk top. We added in a burlap storage box and some washi tape, all things students need, of course!
We never hung her inspirational sign we made last week, but I like it right here in the corner of her desk. She may eventually move it around, but for now I think it is perfect right where it stands.
I am really happy with the way the DIY Burlap Bulletin Board turned out! I printed out a few of her Instagram pictures and made little frames using some of her Washi Tape. I thought it was a cute little addition.
I also wanted to leave a little subtle reminder to keep her room clean. Subliminal messaging!
I want to make sure she has little notes reminding her all of the time how wonderful she is, and I made a few little notes to put around her room and in her gym bag. Today I hung one from her satin cording on the bulletin board.
All in all, I think everything turned out just perfect. She has bright colors, little inspirations, a great space to work on, and her own personal place to learn and grow.
Here is a little peak at what the rest of her room looks like. Curtained bed, lots of fluffy pillows, a little burlap love, and a comfy spot to rest after working hard on her desk! Did I ever mention she has been in a couple of little movies? Nothing big, just small parts, but to her – bragging rights.
