Keep the Kids Cool This Summer with Homemade Popsicles
The PinkWhen Summer Popsicle Series
Keeping the kiddos nice and cool this summer is going to take a lot of work! They love to be outside, never stop running, and can work up a sweat faster than you can imagine! Here in the South it can get hot fast, and the heat index can quickly get up to 115 or higher! When the temp is that high, it can be devastatingly tiring, as well as dangerous if you don’t hydrate enough.
One of the things the kiddos don’t like to do is stop and drink juice or water when outside playing. The complaints I hear when making them come inside and rehydrate and cool off are non stop. “It’s summer, we want to play!” What better way to keep them cool and refreshed than by making them stop for a yummy and refreshing snack? That NEVER gets a complaint!
This summer I am going to post several cool and yummy popsicle recipes that will help keep the whole family smiling and refreshed. You will find everything from different fruit flavors, to cake flavors, and (Shhhhh..) adult beverage flavors! Every recipe is all natural and healthy made from real fruit, fruit juice, or yogurt, etc. So make sure you stick around here for the summer and catch some of these super yummy popsicle recipes with the PinkWhen Summer Popsicle Series.
This recipe is actually one of my favorite go to recipes for the kiddos! It’s a show stopper because they love the different colors and the refreshing taste. Are you ready for this recipe?
When I say it’s refreshing from the heat, it really is!
- Powerade in Mountain Berry Blast
- Powerade in White Cherry
- Powerade in Fruit Punch
It is one of the easiest ways to get everyone to take a break from playing and get quickly refreshed with electrolytes! Amazingly fast they will all come running in for their popsicles, and sit still for a break while eating.
I hope everyone has a Happy 4th of July, stay safe, and stay cool!!! Stick around for the PinkWhen Summer Popsicle Series, and we will stay cool and refreshed together…
If you are looking for a popsicle maker that is easy and takes less than 15 mintes, try the Zoku, it’s what I use and LOVE!
