Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake

This homemade chocolate chip cookie cake is one of our favorite desserts to make for a birthday, or just because. It's delicious, easy, and full of yummy flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 10 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 2/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 10″ pizza pan or cake pan.
  • Add the flour, salt, and baking soda to a bowl and set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugars together for two minutes with an electric mixer on medium speed. Mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla.
  • Pour the flour mixture into butter mixture and mix until combined. Use a wooden spoon to mix in all but two tablespoons of chocolate chips and press the cookie dough into the pie plate/cake pan.
  • Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top and press them down slightly.
  • Add the cookie dough to a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. 
  • Bake for 22-25 minutes. Let the cookie cool completely and then run a sharp knife along the edge to loosen and then use a large spatula to transfer to a platter.
  • Pipe on frosting along the edges and add sprinkles.
  • Top with frosting and sprinkles before serving.
