Hello and Welcome to PinkWhen
First I would like to take the time to welcome you here to PinkWhen. This is a website that is authored and edited by myself, Jennifer West, on a daily basis. This is a personal website, or blog – where I once shared all of my favorite crafts and recipes. I decided to change things up to my true passion, and not you can find easy workouts, healthy recipes, and everything I have put together to make the Simple Fit Forty Lifestyle. You will find my recipes have either been passed down or created, and they are all tested by myself, or family and friends. You can also find full tutorials on some of my favorite craft ideas. Keep in mind that this is always a work in progress, as I am the one and only employer, and one and only employee.
How did PinkWhen come about?
Several years ago I was in the fast world of corporate America with a high stress position in medical device sales. While I was very successful with this over 10 years, my heart was at home with just having the last of my children. I soon decided to create a space where I could share what I love to make and create. Eventually it evolved into me creating this blog to share with everyone.
What does PinkWhen mean?
One day while at a zoo, my then 3 year old stepson said he wanted to go and see the Penguins. However, it didn’t come out as Penguin, it came out as “PinkWhen”. Here we are a couple of years later with our very own PinkWhen. When choosing a blog name I would suggest choosing something that describes your blog. I went the non-traditional route because I could not get the name out of my head, and who doesn’t just love “PinkWhens”.
Where are we located?
PinkWhen is located in Shreveport, Louisiana, a small city that is in the very northwest corner of Louisiana. The largest cities we are located to are Dallas, TX and Baton Rouge, LA.

An avid LSU college football fan, I graduated from LSUS in 2000. After more than 10 years in medical device sales, I was able to stay at home with the youngest of our families four children. While that was a full time job in itself, I decided to create a space where I could share some of my favorite things in life. My hobby quickly became my passion and you can find me here on a daily basis.

Simple Fit Forty Lifestyle
I created the Simple Fit Forty Lifestyle because I know first hand how difficult it gets to stay in shape once you get older and start taking care of family more than you take care of yourself. As a person who has always been sporadically active, I didn’t necessarily eat the most healthy of meals. The older you get, the more your metabolism starts to slow down and the pounds start to pack on. This not only happened to me, but it also inspired me to share all of the things I started doing to get myself back into shape, and even better shape than before. To do that, I am sharing simple workouts designed by my husband (who was a personal trainer), as well as sharing the healthy recipes that I create for our family and friends on a daily basis. *Never start a health and fitness program without first consulting a medical professional, and never do a workout if you don’t have any prior experience with it. I am so excited to start the Simple Fit Forty Lifestyle piece of this website, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
