I have an awesome treat for you today! Kimber and Ashley from The Pinning Mama are Guest Posting and sharing a wonderful recipe! (Don’t choke, they are not football fans, but they sure do have a great tailgating recipe!)  Thank you ladies for sharing this awesome recipe!

Jen

I’m just going to say it how it is. I don’t really like football. I just can’t manage to get in to it. BUT let me tell you what I can get into. Football party food! Yes. I love any excuse to make yummy appys. Especially dips.

Green Chili Cheddar Dip

Green Chili Cheddar Dip

So I figured I would celebrate the beginning of football season with a yummy new recipe, perfect to serve to a game day crowd. Green chilis are one of my loves, and when you mix them with creamy cheese and a touch of garlic throw them in the microwave you get a little piece of heaven in the form of a creamy dip!

The recipe is simple and I love that you can microwave it without sacrificing flavor or texture. It makes it super quick and easy to throw together and the guest will rave!

Here is the recipe:

Green Chili Cheddar Dip

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese
  • 4 oz Green Chilis (1 small can)
  • 4 oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  1. In a medium bowl microwave the cream cheese for 30-60 seconds or until it is softened.
  2. Mix in the green chilis, cheddar, and garlic. Mix well.
  3. Microwave the dip for 45 seconds, stir and then an additional 45 seconds or until it is heated through.
  4. Alternately, you can spread the mixture in a baking dish and bake at 350 degrees F for 20-30 min or until heated through.
  5. Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy the game (or the food!)

We put a chicken graduals, Louisiana hot sauce and worcestershire sauce also. It adds a little kick to it.
