When I was asked to review and do a post for Stubb’s Green Chile Marinade I was stoked! I mean REALLY excited! Why was I so excited? 1. I love to grill 2. I love marinade 3. I like a little kick 4. I like trying new things! 5. This marinade is not around all year long – only for a limited time!
Why Green Chile Marinade? It has a little bit of a backstory. The famous Hatch chile season begins in mid-August and peaks through September. Every year, literally tens of thousands of people from around the WORLD land in little Hatch, New Mexico. It’s the Chile Capital of the world, and people are there to taste delicious recipes made with the famous Hatch Chile.
In honor of this annual celebration, Stubb’s launched its seasonal Green Chile Marinade. It’s made with small batches of green chiles, pineapple and lime juice, as well as jalapenos and brown sugar. It’s a very flavorful marinade, and I was excited to grill my chicken and shrimp after soaking in the Stubb’s Green Chile Marinade.
A few things to note about the entire Stubb’s line of sauces, marinade, and spice rubs: they are all gluten-free and contain no high fructose syrup. Yay for the waistline!
In addition to offering a wonderful flavor, Hatch green chiles offer more vitamin C per ounce than citrus fruits. They are also rich in vitamins such as A, B2, B6, and minerals like potassium, magnesium, and iron. It’s not only good, but it can be argued that it is also GOOD FOR YOU!
Our grilled chicken and shrimp turned out amazing with the Stubb’s Green Chile Marinade. It had that perfect amount of kick, but not too hot to handle. The only thing I wish I had is another bottle of Stubb’s Green Chile Marinade, I want to marinade some vegetable kabobs!
