You and your family will love this delicious coleslaw. You only need a handful of ingredients to make this easy recipe in just a few simple steps. This will be your favorite coleslaw recipe because it’s so much like the real thing with very little prep work.

You can do so many different things with this recipe. Your leftover coleslaw will be great to add to other meals throughout the week. I love adding my leftover coleslaw to tacos and pulled pork sandwiches.

I highly recommend this simple recipe next time you have family gatherings, your next picnic, and backyard barbecues.

You’ll be impressed with this easy coleslaw recipe that tastes just like it came from Kentucky fried chicken.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE THIS RECIPE:

  • Food Processor
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Serving Bowl

Ingredients:

  • Bag of Coleslaw Mix
  • Large Shallot
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Mayonnaise
  • Buttermilk
  • Whole Milk
  • Lemon Juice
  • White Vinegar
  • Salt
  • Pepper

How To Make Copycat KFC Coleslaw

  1. First, add the shredded coleslaw mix to a food processor and pulse it a few times to chop finer. Not too fine, though. Then add to a medium or large mixing bowl.

  2. Then, peel and grate the shallot into the coleslaw mix.

  3. Next, in another small mixing bowl, add the sugar, mayonnaise, buttermilk, milk, lemon juice, and vinegar. Use a whisk to mix it well.

  4. After that, pour into the coleslaw mix and stir well to combine.

  5. Finally, add the salt and pepper, then stir again.

  6. Last, cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Upon serving, give another good stir and strain from the dressing.

The cabbage does contain a lot of fiber so this is indeed good for your gut.

I can only find a prepackaged coleslaw bag but it has red cabbage in it too, is that ok?

Yes, it won’t affect the taste. Only aesthetically will it change the way it looks, as KFC Cole slaw mix does not contain red cabbage.

I can’t find the pre-packaged coleslaw can I make it from scratch?

Most definitely, Take a small head of cabbage and chop it finely into small pieces. Take 3 large carrots and grate then mix with the cabbage.

If you love KFC, you’re going to love this KFC copycat coleslaw. The hardest part is making sure you have enough on hand, because this disappears fast!

  • 16 ounces coleslaw mix refrigerated
  • 1 large shallot grated
  • 1/3 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup milk whole
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
