Trick or Treat!  It’s about time to think of what we are going to be decorating, dressing up with, and showering our kids with this upcoming season.  I am so excited to show with you a few nifty little Halloween Ideas that some of my blogging friends and I have come together to share. Together, we are going to do a series of ideas over the next few months to help share some craftiness on what you can do this upcoming holiday season – Halloween, as well as Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

To get things started, I am going to share with you one of my Halloween Crafts for the upcoming Trick or Treat fest!

Halloween Buckets

First we need to gather all of your supplies:

I picked these buckets up at the local hardware store.  I would recommend going in and checking out all of the sizes and weight.  You don’t want to order buckets and end up with something incredibly heavy.  Besides, imagine how heavy it will be after all of the candy is piled in there? If you can’t find them in store, the supply list has the exact bucket I used.

Next you want to choose your base color.  As you can see above, I have a black bucket and a white bucket I painted.  Take your painters tape and cover the handle if you do not want it painted.  Then apply a generous coat of paint to each bucket.  Make sure you shake your spray can well before, and that you are in a well ventilated area.  Another trick is to make sure you don’t get the spray nozzle closer than 12 inches or you could end up with runs on the metal.  Allow to dry over night.

Once your buckets are dry and ready, it’s time to decide on your designs and colors.  I used several different vinyl colors and layered them with files I downloaded from the Silhouette store.

Haha! Well my oldest is almost 13 and she still wanted a bucket. :-) She will probably just keep it in her room to put pens and pencils in, or trash! Who knows…

I LOVE those witches legs. And your 13 y.o. is too old to trick or treat? She needs to come here… We need to check the ID of the “kids” who trick or treat in our neighborhood. You are never too old for candy though :) haha!

Oh she goes, and she usually has a group of friends, too! They are all “grandfathered” in because of the little one. :-)

Thanks Therese! I have two more to make for the boys….will have to share those on Instagram when I am finished :-)

Hi Christy! Thanks for visiting. The vinyl is removable, so you can use the bucket for something else if you want. Love how you can change things up so easily by decorating with vinyl.

These are so very cool! Visiting from #LOBS and I have pinned this so hopefully some of my more artistic friends and family will check it out!

Aaahhhh!! These are adorable Jenn! I love doing crafty things for the kids and it’s high time they had their own personalized buckets. One of the few things I haven’t done. Super cute!

Thanks Nikki! Well I have buckets, but no costumes yet!! I need to start working on that before they are sold out…so glad you stopped in!
