What was probably, and arguably, one of my most popular posts this year was my DIY Arm Knitting an Infinity Scarf tutorial. I don’t think I have ever had so many comments, questions, and traffic off of a post before. Arm Knitting for beginners is a quick series I am sharing of previous posts to help answer some of those questions, and help you get started.

Arm Knitting for Beginners

Arm Knitting can be a little “different” if you have never done it before, but taking your time and working on your technique can, and will, produce some awesome results.

I have had so much positive feedback from these posts, that for my “End of the Year Recycle” I thought I would share them again, but together so you can easily find what you are looking for.

If you have never tried Arm Knitting before, I totally recommend you checking out this quick video I made on the basics. This is perfect for Arm Knitting beginners. You can easily see how to make your slip knot, how to make your stitches, and how to bind off whatever project you choose to make. To find this video, click below:

Once you feel you are comfortable with your new found technique and are ready to take on your first challenge, head over to this video here and make yourself (or someone else) a beautiful and chunky infinity scarf.

Arm Knitting Infinity Scarf

Arm Knitting for beginners is just as easy as it is for someone who has been doing it a while. You may find out really quickly that not only is Arm Knitting fun, but it can be a treat to share with your friends and family.

Learn How to Arm Knit

My oldest daughter has not only surpassed me in making scarves, but she has also taught her Home Economics class how to Arm Knit, as well as delivered several scarves to her teachers for gifts this year.

Take a few minutes and learn a new craft, Arm Knitting for Beginners doesn’t have to be hard, and these two videos will help you on the way!

I watched the whole second video! Scarlet kept wondering who the voice in my computer belonged to.
I think it’s awesome that your daughter is so talented already! Scarlet can already sew better than I can. She even told me I needed to take a class or something because I can’t sew or knit very well!

I enjoyed watching your videos. I don’t consider myself a very crafty person, but I do like to try every once in a while. This looks like something that could produce some nice gifts with a little practice. Thanks for the share!

Thank you so much for the great videos. I’m addicted to making these scarves now! I love the 3rd, multi colored scarf in your pictures. Can you tell me what yarn that is? Thanks

Thank you so much for sharing!
I am eager to do some arm knitting.
Although the scarves look beautiful I was wondering if it is much more difficult to make shawls or pull-overs.
Do you have a tutorial on those?

I do have a tutorial on a cowl scarf. It takes 20 minutes as is actually my favorite one to make 🙂

Thanks for the arm knitting video and for not going to fast! I finally knitted something and I’ve been working on a project for three months and produced nothing! My grandma always wanted me to knit, and it helped to know the basics before watching! So simple anyone can do it. It was kind of sloppy my first time because I pulled on it too much. But it’s wearable and good for wearing on my walks! Keep it up!
