This delicious Cajun Seafood Boil is made with large shrimp, crab legs, red potatoes, fresh ears of corn, Cajun seasoning, crisp vegetables, Aidells® Cajun Link andouille sausage (we grabbed ours at the local Albertsons grocer), lemons, and more. It’s an authentic Louisiana-style seafood boil that everyone is sure to enjoy.

Being a Louisianian, we know how to do a boil. Whether that is a seafood boil, shrimp boil, crawfish boil, well – you get the idea, right? We’ve got it down to a science when it comes to our food boils. To have a successful food boil you have to make sure you have just the right ingredients.

Ingredients needed for a cajun seafood boil.
  • Your main boiling items (shrimp, seafood, crawfish, crab legs, lobster, etc.) Use King Crab legs or Snow Crab legs and don’t be afraid to add Lobster Tail.
  • Vegetables (sweet corn, red potatoes, heads garlic, onion, bell pepper, bay leaves)
  • Andouille Sausage (we prefer Aidells® Cajun Link because they are high-quality meats & all-natural ingredients, no artificial ingredients, no nitrites, and chicken raised without added hormones)
  • Lemon halves or wedges
  • Crab boil (powder or liquid seafood boil seasoning)
  • Water
  • Stick of Salted Butter or Unsalted Butter
  • Creole Seasoning
  • Cayenne Pepper and black pepper
Ingredients needed for a crab boil.

You can easily and conveniently find all of these Cajun Seafood Boil items at your local Albertsons store and on the Albertsons app. You can specifically find the Cajun links in the meat section with the sandwich meats, sausages, and bacon. You can also conveniently grab it from the app!

How to Make a Seafood Boil

Now we are getting to our favorite part, the boil! We try and have a Cajun Seafood Boil at least 3 times a year. Our main boils are typically with crawfish, but you will certainly find all of our boils look just like this one. Check out just how easy it is to do a seafood boil with this easy recipe.

Fully seafood boil finished and served on a baking sheet and ready to eat.

First, organize your seafood boil recipe by breaking things down in steps. The first thing you will need to do is grab all of your ingredients and organize them according to the steps in the boil.

  • Chop all of the vegetables and quarter the lemons, set aside
  • Place the ears corn and potatoes in a bowl, set aside
  • Prepare your seasonings
  • Place the large pot of water on a heat source and bring to a boil (we prefer to do this outside)
  • Place the seafood and Cajun links into a separate bowl, set aside.

Step 1: Once you have boiling water, add butter, vegetables, lemon wedges, fresh corn, potatoes, and seasonings to the pot. Allow to boil for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 2: Lastly, add the seafood and Cajun links to the boil. Bring the water back to a boil for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 3: After 3 minutes, turn off the heat, cover the pot with a lid, and allow the food to soak in the boil for another 5 minutes.

Step 4: Use a slotted spoon to scoop out the vegetables, seafood, and Cajun links into a serving tray. Enjoy!

TIP: The longer you allow the items to soak, the hotter the spice in the boil will become. Feel free to allow the items to soak longer if you are looking for an even spicier boil.

What do I serve with a Cajun Seafood Boil?

The best part about a boil is that the sides are all boiled with the main dish. You can also add a few additional items to go along with the boil. We love to serve additional sides such as:

  • French Bread
  • Macaroni Salad
  • Green Salad
  • Coleslaw
  • Potato Salad
