Hello, PinkWhen readers! It’s Dee from Meatloaf and Melodrama, and I’m here to share a wonderful quick and easy recipe that’s perfect for this time of year. I don’t know about you, but I crave everything chocolate around the holidays, including drinks. My kids just love hot chocolate, but if I’m having some, I like to dress it up and make it more flavorful. So, the other night, I made this Cinnamon Vanilla Hot Chocolate.
It’s smooth, rich, chocolaty, and it’s the perfect drink to enjoy on a cold night!

I seriously can’t believe it’s almost Christmas. I mean, where did the time go?! Because we’re all so busy right now, I like to relax and enjoy those little moments when we’re all at home. And when it’s cold out, I just love warm drinks. Usually, I’ll sip some hot tea, but around the holidays, it’s all about chocolate.
Cinnamon Vanilla Hot Chocolate
I confess that I used to use those little packets. I mean, it’s so simple to just open them up, dump the mix into a cup and add hot water, right? But honestly, making your own hot chocolate is just as easy, and it tastes a lot better than the stuff you get from the store! And if you want to be super organized, you can even make your own little packages and have them ready to go when you need them. I’m not quite there yet, but maybe someday!
Usually, if I’m making hot cocoa for everyone, I’ll make a big pot of it and then fill everyone’s cups up individually. But if it’s just for me or maybe one or two of the kids, I’ll just mix up the ingredients individually and then add some warm milk and plus a splash of French vanilla syrup — yum!
Then, I’ll add a generous helping of whipped cream and a few shakes of ground cinnamon. When I made this for my older daughter, she thought it was better than her usual drink from her favorite coffee house. Plus, it’s less expensive too!
