  • lemon pepper (I love homemade)
  • lemon slices
  • lemon zest
  • fresh parsley
  • butter
Fresh raw shrimp in a bowl with a lemon and seasonings on a table.

For this recipe, I used the XL 21-25 jumbo shrimp. They’re frozen shrimp, so I thaw them out before cooking. Depending on when I am eating, I will thaw the shrimp in the fridge the night before I am making my recipe. Or you can pull them straight from the freezer and run the frozen shrimp under cold water in a strainer to allow them to thaw. It only takes a few minutes.

The shrimp I purchase is already split and deveined to make it easy for you to peel once thawed. I’ll peel the shells but typically leave the tail on. Either way is fine and it’s up to you and your personal preference.

You can use large shrimp or medium shrimp and also purchase fresh jumbo shrimp at the seafood counter. Whatever size of the shrimp you grab, either will work with this recipe.
