Have you ever made your own homemade cleaning products?
These homemade sanitizing wipes are now some of my new favorites. I like to use these when I am cleaning frequently used surfaces in the bathroom and the kitchen.
WHAT DO I NEED FOR HOMEMADE DISINFECTING WIPES
You can make these homemade disinfecting wipes by using paper towels or by using old clothes. I prefer to use old clothes. I don’t want to run through my supply of paper towels and other paper products if they are in high demand. Plus, I can throw these in the washer and reuse them several times before replacing the wipes.
To make these wipes you need to have just a few things on hand.
- Fabric
- Alcohol
- Distilled Water
- Lemon Essential Oil
- Tea Tree Essential Oil
- Mason jar
- Glass Spray Bottle
There are many ways to use essential oils, and cleaning is one of the best. Lemon and Tea Tree oil are antimicrobials – meaning they kill or slow the spread of microorganisms. You can read more about the different levels of sanitizers and disinfectants from the NPIC.
HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE DISINFECTING WIPES
To make these homemade cleaning wipes I will use rubbing alcohol, distilled water, fabric, lemon, and tea tree essential oils. If I think the surface needs more cleaning, I will also add some of the cleaning solutions to a glass spray bottle. Then I will soak the surface for a few minutes before wiping it clean.
