  • One package of Oreos– to make the cookie crust from scratch, I like to grab a family size package of Oreos so there are leftover free Oreos to have for snacking -30 Oreos crushed to fine powder, the rest will be for the filling, and use the extra Oreos for decorating the pie.
  • butter, melted– you can use unsalted or salted butter

OR

  • One ready-made Oreo Pie Crust

How to make this no-bake Oreo pie crust

To make the pie crust from scratch, use a food processor and pulse to crush the Oreos into a fine crumbs powder without any chunks or pieces. If you don’t have a food processor, you can place the Oreo cookies in a large Ziploc bag, and crush with a meat tenderizer or rolling pin.

Oreos crushed and mixed with melted butter in a white pie plate.

Next, in a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the melted butter. Use a fork, small rubber spatula, or wooden spoon to stir ingredients together until the butter makes the cookie crumble crumb mixture soggy. It should have a slightly wet sand appearance.

Pour the mixture into an 8- or 9-inch pie pan or tart pan. Press firmly and allow the crust to chill while preparing the filling. Chilling will help the butter cool which makes the crust set.

The pie can also be made ahead and chilled overnight, until ready to serve. If you are in a hurry to serve this yummy pie, place it in the freezer for 30-60 minutes for it set.

Notes

Tips:
  • For an extra special treat, top your slice of pie with a scoop of ice cream. To make it even more decadent, drizzle with melted chocolate for a rich chocolaty flavor.
  • Garnish the pie with whole or crushed cookies and whipping cream or drizzle with chocolate.
  • Using a pre-made Oreo pie crust is a little faster, because you can avoid extra prep time and chill time. I personally feel the pre-made pie crust doesn’t have the same texture as a homemade crust, but when you need a quick dessert, it does the trick.
