How to Make Brats in an Air Fryer

  1. Remove the brats from the refrigerator and allow them to sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.

  2. Slice the bell peppers, (optional: mix with oil and seasonings) and set them aside.

  3. Prepare the basket of the air fryer with a nonstick spray such as olive oil or use parchment paper for easier cleanup.

  4. Place the brats in the prepared air fryer basket in a single layer. Place the sliced bell peppers around the sides.

  5. Cook on 360 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes, flipping the bell peppers halfway through until the brats have reached an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit with a meat thermometer.

NOTE: All Air Fryer are manufactured differently and cook at different power wattages. This recipe was made using Cosori 5.8 qt air fryer. If you are using a different air fryer, you may need to add or take away a minute or two.

FAQs

What pairs well with cooked fresh brats?

Depending on what you like to eat, you can vary the side dishes! Cheese curds are great as is potato salad. I also like to pair fatty foods like fresh brats with a variety of cold local beers!

How do you keep brats from sticking to the air fryer tray

Make certain that you use a non stick spray on your trusty air fryer. As the air fryer cooks, the cooking spray will keep the brats from sticking during the cooking process.

I have read that we are not supposed to use Pam cooking spray in the air fryers. Supposedly eats the finish from the basket. Now I’m confused.
    Thanks,
    Sandy

Yes, you do NOT want to use a spray such as PAM in the Air Fryer as it has Soy Lecithin – and that will eat the nonstick finish off of your basket. You CAN use a nonstick spray such as an olive oil spray, avocado oil spray, etc. Any nonstick spray that does not have the ingredient soy lecithin. 🙂 Hope that helps!
