Valentine Cake Pops are a super cute and fun dessert to share with your favorite Valentine. They also make the perfect Valentine gift! There really are not a lot of things you need for this tutorial, just a great cake recipe, some chocolate candy melts, and an oven!

These cake pops were super easy and fun to make. You on;y need to have a cake mix, cake pop tray, candy, and melting chocolates for decorating.
In this tutorial, I used a tray, but they now have a heart-shaped cake mold that will be just as cute.
How to Make Chocolate Covered Heart Shaped Cake Pops
Step 1: Grab your favorite cake recipe and get everything mixed and ready.

Step 2: Once your mix is ready, place small scoops into the heart-shaped baking dish that has been sprayed with a non-stick spray and sprinkled with a little flour.

Step 3: Cover your tray with the top and bake for 10 minutes. I found this was the perfect amount of time for these little hearts!

Step 4: Once finished, open up the tray and pop them out on a sheet of wax paper or a cooling rack. Take the popsicle (eat-a-pop) sticks, dip them in chocolate, and allow to cool.

Step 5: Once cooled, cover in chocolate and decorate as desired.

Such a cute and fun project, and now little Addy can have her cake and “eat a pops”, too! Ok, that was cheesy… I did find that one cake mix would make about 60 heart-shaped cake pops, so you will have plenty to share!
Perfect for all of her friends in the classroom.

We had so much fun making these. I love making fun desserts with the kiddos, and they love to help “taste test” to make sure they are perfect. We coated our “eat-a-pops” in chocolate and sprinkles, (and we coated half of the kitchen in the same).

I hope you have fun like we did making cute Valentine’s desserts, and make sure to give these Chocolate Covered Heart Shaped Cake Pops a try.

What are you doing to me here?? You post the best recipes. And everybody knows that if it’s heart-shaped, it tastes better.
Well, this was less of a recipe and more of a how-to with the fun little heart shaped baking tins I picked up at Target. Addy went CRAZY over them! It was a good buy, I am sure Des and Scarlet would have fun with this as well. 🙂
I really want to try these, but I am so afraid my lack of baking skills will ruin them! 😉 They look delicious!-Ashley
You could totally do this! Trust me, if I can do it, you can do it… 🙂
How adorable are these?!! So cute! Very tempted to try to make them…but I burn everything that needs to be baked…
The trick is NOT to bake them long at all. I took my cake recipe and placed the oven on the same temp I would for cupcakes….and then I only baked these for 10 minutes.
Just last night my husband and I were discussing how to make cake pops! Great timing 😉 Thanks for these cute ones, too.
Awe, thanks Melissa! These were super easy because there was this heart shaped bakeware being used. It was actually easier for me to make than when I do my other cake balls! LOL
Very cute, Jen. And definitely up our alley! I’ll have to look for the molds 🙂

They were so fun to make, and these are right up your alley!
Hi Jen, these are super adorable! I think I might just have to make some of these for my daughter’s school if I can find the pan at my Target. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Thanks Meg, and I hope you can find them!
OK, these are absolutely adorable! I’m pinning this for future reference. Hopefully, I can come up with some kind of good excuse to make them!
Thanks Kristen, they are so fun to make!
Jen these look so yummy, my girls would probably love making these.
Hi Wanda! Thanks so much, and my girls had a BLAST making these, so I know yours would as well!
I didn’t realize how easy these were to make! I’ll have to try a batch. Thanks for posting and linking up at LOBS Jen! 🙂
Thanks Crystal!
This is such a fun idea and they are so cute! With two toddlers, I’m always looking for easy ideas and this definitely sounds do able.

Thanks so much for stopping in!
OK< those look amazing! My kids would have so much fun making those. I've pinned, and we are going to do it! Second of all, your pictures are incredible! Have you done any posts on how to make great pictures because I need some tips on getting my photos to look like THAT! (not only the pictures, but what program you use to make them so pretty!)
Awe, thanks so much! I have not done any posts on how to do pictures, but I do have a board on Pinterest and it has a ton of photo tips and tricks. I haven’t read them all, but the ones from ClickItUpANotch are what got me shooting manual. Courtney is an amazing teacher! For the program, I actually use TWO. I use both PicMonkey and Photoshop. I am sure there is a much easier way to do it…but I’m like an old dog who doesn’t learn new tricks…LOL.
I love “eat-a-pops!” These are so cute. Thanks for linking to the In and Out of the Kitchen Link Party. Hope to see you next week.
These are adorable! I love anything heart shaped in general. I pinned and hope to make some of my own soon!
