I love my air fryer and love to make all sorts of dishes in it. If you’re looking for something that will pair well with these quesadillas in the air fryer, check out these Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas or Air Fryer Mexican Street Corn.

My whole family loves this air fryer quesadilla recipe. The best part is just how easy they are to make.

You can make these air fryer quesadillas with just a few simple ingredients and they’re done in less than 10 minutes. It’s an easy recipe for the perfect quick lunch or last minute dinner idea.

How Does the Air Fryer work?

Cooking with Air Fryers has made it easier to eat healthier without submerging your foods in oil.

Air Fryers cook foods by using a heating element and a fan, and that circulating of heat and hot air is what helps cook the food and crisp it.

Air Fryers can cook with heat as high as 400° Fahrenheit/200° Celcius. Some air fryers may even cook to higher temps.

Ingredients:

  • refried beans
  • leftover chicken (shredded)
  • shredded cheese (I like cheddar cheese and a Mexican blend for these)
  • flour tortillas (you can also use corn tortillas)

Add toppings such as fresh cilantro, sour cream, salsa, and more.

Ingredients needed to make quesadillas in the air fryer.

How to Make Quesadillas in the Air Fryer

  1. Prepare the basket of the air fryer with nonstick cooking spray or olive oil if needed.
  2. Place tortilla on a flat surface and top tortilla with refried beans on one half.
  3. Air Fryer Quesadillas with refried beans on one side.

  4. Add a sprinkle of cheese to the top of the refried beans. Add the shredded chicken on top of the cheese, and then top with additional cheese if desired.
  5. Tortillas with refried beans and shredded cheese on top.

  6. Fold the tortilla in half. Repeat as necessary for additional quesadillas.
  7. Hand folding over quesadillas before placing them into the air fryer.

  8. Place the folded tortillas into the prepared air fryer basket.
  9. Quessadillas in the basket of the air fryer.

  10. Air Fry the quesadillas at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 minutes. Check the tortillas after a couple of minutes and use a spatula to push the top of the quesadilla down if they’ve started lifting away from the toppings. Flip the tortillas halfway through.
  11. Cooked quesadillas in the air fryer basket.

  12. Remove the quesadillas from the air fryer and serve with your favorite sides.

NOTE: This recipe was made using a Cosori 5.8 quart air fryer. If you’re using a different manufactured air fryer, you may need to check on the quesadillas more often and adjust the cooking time as needed.
