One of my favorite things about the upcoming holidays is how I am going to share my Thanksgiving Table Setting with my family when they arrive. I love to try and think out of the box, and I love to do things that are more simple than difficult. I have too many kids and too many animals to try and spend hours or days trying to create the perfect table setting. I want something that is beautiful, and yet simple to create.

First off, you might be thinking “why am I decorating the table?” Well, mostly because I try and deter them from looking at the rest of my house. If I wow them with a beautifully set table, they are less likely to notice all of my other crafts and boxes lying around my house. And if they do notice them, they will just think that in those boxes and corners are more genius ideas I will be sharing with them soon! (At least that’s what I hope they will think.)

Thanksgiving Table Setting

To get started with this Thanksgiving Table Setting, I ran to my local JoAnn’s and picked up these beautiful plates. I really loved the decorative design, and they are perfect for the setting I had in mind. I also picked up a few different bunches of flowers I wanted to share around the table to give it just a little bit of pop.

Once I had all of my supplies, I began by creating a decorative napkin to display on each plate. I waffled back and forth with the pocket napkins for the silverware, and decided finally on this fun little turkey napkin. There is going to be a turkey on the table soon, so why not share a little of the turkey with the family ahead of time.

After creating my turkey napkin (and I think it turned out really cute) I added the silverware to surround it, and then took the flowers and placed them in different spots around the table. Flowers make such a pretty decoration, and they are just so easy to decorate with.

It’s a simple table decor idea, and one I think I may be using for a few more Thanksgiving dinners. Make sure to try and find these beautiful plates before they are gone!

I hope you have a few ideas in mind for a Thanksgiving Table Setting, and make sure to wow them this upcoming holiday!

Since I’m not much of a cook, I’m often the one setting the table. I would love to blow their minds with this!

Your table is beautiful! And I love that you say it is to distract from the rest of the house… that is hilarious! Love that little turkey. I might have to steal him haha!

Thanks Kimber! I am serious, if my table looks amazing, maybe they won’t notice everything else going on in the house. LOL

So cute! I’m still not sure what we’re doing for Thanksgiving this year, but if we have dinner at our house, I’m definitely going to give this a try. I think everyone would get a kick out of it.

We are in the same boat as you, it’s always last minute for exactly where we have dinner and who is coming, but it almost ALWAYS ends up over at my house.

This is beautiful, Jen! I especially love the contrast of the tiny orange flowers with all of the more neutral colors.
