How do Air Fryers work?

Air Fryers work with a heating element and a fan that helps blow the hot air around the food. This hot air circulation is what helps cook the food and give it that fried taste and feel without being fried in unhealthy oils and fats. The best part is that foods typically cook faster and there is less mess and clean up when using the air fryer.

Ingredients:

  • butter salted, softened
  • brown sugar
  • granulated white sugar
  • egg
  • vanilla extract
  • all purpose flour
  • baking soda
  • semi sweet chocolate chips
Ingredients needed to make chocolate chip cookies in the air fryer.

I also use air fryer parchment paper, which is actually just regular parchment paper shaped like the air fryer basket with holes punched in it for better air circulation.

The other item I use for this recipe is a cookie scoop to make the perfect cookie shape.

  • Add the flour and baking powder to a large bowl and set aside.
  • Cream together the sugar, brown sugar, and butter using a handheld mixer or a stand mixer on medium speed.

  • Prepare the air fryer basket with a nonstick cooking spray or a piece of air fryer parchment paper.
  • Scoop the cookies into the air fryer basket using a small 1″ cookie scoop. Make sure to keep space in between each cookie to allow it to spread during the cooking process.

  • Air fry the cookies at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 7-8 minutes, or until the cookies are a light golden brown.

  • For larger cookies, air fryer for 8-9 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

  • Transfer the cookie to a wire rack to cool slightly before serving.

Note: This air fryer cookie recipe was made using a 5.8-quart Cosori Air Fryer. If you’re using a different air fryer, you may need to adjust the cooking time and add a minute or two or even take away a little time. It’s always best to do a small batch test the first time you make these air fry cookies.

FAQs

How long do I cook Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Cookies?

Cook smaller cookies in the air fryer at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 7-8 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. For larger cookies, cook for 8-9 minutes, or until golden brown along the edges.

How do I store the remaining cookie dough?

If you’re going to make small batch of cookies during the week, store the leftover cookie dough in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If you’re going to freeze the cookie dough, use a cookie scoop to make cookie dough balls. Place the balls of dough in a single layer in an airtight container. Top the cookie dough balls with a piece of parchment paper and then add additional cookie dough balls to the top. Once finished, place the air tight container or freezer bag in the freezer for up to 3 months.

How do I make frozen cookies in the air fryer?

Remove the frozen cookie dough from the freezer and allow the dough to sit at room temperature for 5 minutes. Place the frozen cookie dough in the air fryer basket and air fry the cookies at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 7-8 minutes for smaller cookies, or 9-10 minutes for larger cookies.

These classic chocolate chip cookies are some of my favorites. The air fryer is a great way to make cookies in small batches.
