I love a good family gathering and we love to serve some of the amazing foods that are synonymous with outdoor fun. Ribs are always a hit at our backyard gatherings. Whether it’s a holiday or just because we love to make ribs for many of our outdoor gatherings.

I think air fryers are the best thing since sliced bread. I have found my air fryer is always the best way to make dinner when I am rushed for time.

I love Air Fryer Ribs, but let me tell you, these country style pork ribs will give that recipe a run for the money. This easy recipe is made in just 20 minutes. Perfect for a quick dinner when you’re craving barbecue.

You only need a handful of ingredients to make this dish and it’s an efficient way to save time and skip heating the grill or oven.

Ingredient Checklist:

  • 10 country-style ribs (bone-in or boneless country ribs)
  • ground black pepper
  • garlic powder
  • smoked paprika
  • brown sugar
  • barbecue sauce

*I used a Cosori 5.8qt with this recipe and was able to cook the ribs in two batches. If you have a larger or smaller air fryer, you may need to cook in multiple batches, or in a single batch if your air fryer can accommodate the ribs.

How to Make Country Style Ribs in the Air Fryer

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare the basket with nonstick cooking spray or parchment paper after the preheat cycle is finished.
  2. Combine the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and ground black pepper in a small bowl and set it aside.
  3. Rinse the ribs and then pat them dry. Rub a small amount of seasoning mixture onto the tops and sides of the ribs. Continue to season the remaining ribs.
  4. Place the country pork ribs into a single layer in the prepared air fryer basket. Cook at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes. Check the ribs, and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Add the bbq sauce to the ribs and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Check that the internal temperature has reached 145 degrees Fahrenheit before serving.
  5. Carefully remove the ribs from the air fryer with a pair of tongs. Serve with your favorite sides.

NOTE: All air fryers cook a little differently according to the wattage and output. It’s always a good idea to do a test run before cooking the full meal to make sure your air fryer doesn’t undercook or overcook the recipe. You may need to take away a little time or even add a little time. Check the time needed by using a meat thermometer for accuracy. You may or may not need to prepare the air fryer tray if your air fryer already has a nonstick surface.

What’s the difference between country-style ribs, spare ribs, and baby back ribs?

Country-style ribs are from the shoulder of the pig, while baby back ribs are small ribs that come from the loin, and spare ribs come from the belly area.

What internal temperature should the ribs be before serving?

According to the FDA, the internal temperature of pork should be at least 145 degrees Fahrenheit before serving. This is for both bone-in and boneless ribs. You can use an instant-read thermometer to easily and quickly check the temperature.
