I love to make fun breakfast items in the air fryer, and delicious bacon is one of my favorite recipes that takes less time. You can make the best bacon without babysitting the stove top or oven in just 10 minutes when you use the air fryer. It’s one of the easiest ways to make bacon!

Another one of my favorite ways to make bacon is in the Instant Pot! But let’s get back to this perfect Air Fryer Bacon…

My other favorite morning Air Fryer breakfasts include Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls, Air Fryer Breakfast Bowl, and Air Fryer Donut Holes.

Now let’s get back to making the best Air Fryer bacon recipe and have you making the perfect bacon the first time you try this air fryer method!

How Does the Air Fryer Work?

Cooking with Air Fryers has made it easier to eat healthier without submerging your foods in oil.

Air Fryers cook foods by using a heating element and a fan, and that circulating of heat and hot air is what helps cook the food and crisp it.

Air Fryers can cook with heat as high as 400° Fahrenheit/200° Celcius. Some air fryers may even cook to higher temps.

Ingredients:

  • thin sliced bacon
Uncooked bacon in the basket of the air fryer.

How to Make Bacon in the Air Fryer:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare the air fryer basket.
  2. Place the pieces of bacon in the basket of the air fryer in a single layer. (It’s ok if the bacon overlaps a little)
  3. Close the basket door and cook at 400° degrees Fahrenheit (205° degrees Celcius) for 10 minutes.
  4. Check the bacon after 10 minutes for crispiness. If you would like the bacon to be crispier, add an extra minute or two of cook time.
  5. Remove cooked bacon to a plate with a pair of tongs and blot with paper towels to soak up any excess grease before serving.
  6. Make sure you carefully remove the bacon grease from the bottom of the air fryer basket before it cools.

NOTE: If using thick-cut bacon slices you may need to add a few more minutes of cook time. The thickness of your bacon will determine the amount of time used. I generally use 15 minutes for thick-cut bacon pieces. It will also depend on how much bacon you are cooking. If you’re only cooking a few pieces, you will also need to adjust the cooking time down accordingly. All air fryers are manufactured differently and will cook differently. This recipe was made using the Cosori 5.8 quart Air Fryer and it worked perfectly. You can also add a piece of bread to the bottom basket of the air fryer to absorb the bacon fat and grease.

FAQs

What is air fryer smoke?

From time to time you may see a little bit of white smoke coming from the basket of the air fryer. This is usually due to the smoking point of any oil you are using, or also due to the fat and grease in foods that is being cooked off.

Can I use parchment paper or foil for easier cleanup in the air fryer basket?

Check your manufacturer’s suggestions in the owners’ booklet, but you should be able to use either of those items for easy clean up. Note, there are a few air fryer manufacturers that suggest NOT using those in the air fryer, so check first before doing so.

This is by far one of my favorite recipes and what I have found to be the best method for making bacon in the air fryer, especially if you’re looking for a crispy result.

I am making your Slow Cooker Turkey Chili right now. It says to drain and rinse the black beans. Do I also drain the other beans and canned diced tomatoes?

I usually just drain and rinse the black beans and include the others with the juices for the extra flavor. 🙂
