BLACKENED CHICKEN THIGHS
Don’t let the name of the recipe fool you. It might sound like it’s a lot of work but I can assure you that it’s not. It’s definitely worth the effort because the taste is really, really good.
In fact, there are just six simple ingredients that you’re going to need for this blackened chicken recipe. It doesn’t get more simple than that!
WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE THIS RECIPE FOR BLACKENED CHICKEN?
Since I already spilled the beans that you only need 6 ingredients, you know that this list is going to be short!
Butter – You can use salted or unsalted here.
Bone in skin on chicken thighs
Minced garlic – If you have fresh garlic, you can roast up and mince on your own.
Blackening seasoning
Low sodium chicken broth – We use low sodium but you can use other options.
Fresh chopped parsley for garnish – Just to add a nice green coloring to the end.
HOW TO MAKE BLACKENED CHICKEN
This recipe is super simple to make. With just a few moments of prep time, you’ll be “patiently” waiting to chow down.
Here is all you need to do to make this blackened chicken recipe:
- Heat skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add 2 tbsp butter to melt.
- Add chicken thighs and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove chicken thighs from skillet. Set aside.
- Add 2 tbsp butter and minced garlic to skillet. Brown the garlic, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add blackened seasoning and stir for one minute.
- Add in chicken broth and bring to a boil, reduce the heat.
- Add chicken thighs back to the skillet and allow to finish fully cooking about 6-8 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Serve with al dente spaghetti or fettuccine noodles and drizzle with the butter garlic sauce from the skillet. Then top with shredded parmesan and fresh parsley.

Absolutely! Cooking up chicken and then having some leftover for later is one of the perks. All you need to do to freeze the chicken is store it in a freezer-safe container for later.
