Anyone else love the taste of garlic as much as we do? We seriously can’t get enough. And when we discovered the beauty of combining butter and garlic together to create a savory sauce, it was like our minds, hearts, and bellies have come together in happiness.

This blackened chicken recipe is certain to become a household favorite.

BLACKENED CHICKEN THIGHS

Don’t let the name of the recipe fool you. It might sound like it’s a lot of work but I can assure you that it’s not. It’s definitely worth the effort because the taste is really, really good.

In fact, there are just six simple ingredients that you’re going to need for this blackened chicken recipe. It doesn’t get more simple than that!

WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE THIS RECIPE FOR BLACKENED CHICKEN?

Since I already spilled the beans that you only need 6 ingredients, you know that this list is going to be short!

Butter – You can use salted or unsalted here.

Bone in skin on chicken thighs

Minced garlic – If you have fresh garlic, you can roast up and mince on your own.

Blackening seasoning

Low sodium chicken broth – We use low sodium but you can use other options.

Fresh chopped parsley for garnish – Just to add a nice green coloring to the end.

HOW TO MAKE BLACKENED CHICKEN

This recipe is super simple to make. With just a few moments of prep time, you’ll be “patiently” waiting to chow down.

Here is all you need to do to make this blackened chicken recipe:

  • Heat skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add 2 tbsp butter to melt.
  • Add chicken thighs and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove chicken thighs from skillet. Set aside.
  • Add 2 tbsp butter and minced garlic to skillet. Brown the garlic, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add blackened seasoning and stir for one minute.
  • Add in chicken broth and bring to a boil, reduce the heat.
  • Add chicken thighs back to the skillet and allow to finish fully cooking about 6-8 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Serve with al dente spaghetti or fettuccine noodles and drizzle with the butter garlic sauce from the skillet. Then top with shredded parmesan and fresh parsley.

HOW TO SERVE THESE BLACKENED CHICKEN THIGHS IN GARLIC BUTTER SAUCE

You can actually serve this chicken recipe in a few different ways but here are some of our favorite ways to eat and enjoy this blackened chicken:

  • With a side of noodles drizzled in garlic butter sauce and topped with freshly shredded parmesan cheese.
  • Chopped up and piled high on crackers
  • Minced finely and eaten with a delicious homemade bread

CAN YOU FREEZE COOKED CHICKEN THIGHS?

Absolutely! Cooking up chicken and then having some leftover for later is one of the perks. All you need to do to freeze the chicken is store it in a freezer-safe container for later.

Then, when you’re ready to eat, just unthaw, reheat, and enjoy!

CAN I USE OTHER CUTS OF MEAT FOR THIS SIMPLE CHICKEN RECIPE?

You can. We just use chicken thighs because we like the taste and flavor but you can use whatever type of chicken that you have in the house. No reason to spend money on something else when you already have an option that’ll work.

You’re really going to love this simple and easy dinner recipe. Make certain to check out some of these other great weeknight meals, too.
