What do I need to make cookie dough bars?
Have you ever had a cookie dough bar? They are so chewy, doughy, and incredibly delicious. My girls love all things cookie dough, and these chocolate chip cookie bars are no exception.
This is such a super simple recipe, and I love the fact that you actually only have two ingredients. TWO. Can you make bars from cookie dough? YES! Here is what you need:
- 2 packages Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
- 2 packages Chocolate Chips (I picked Milk Chocolate and Premier White Chocolate)
Once you have all of your ingredients (all TWO of them) gathered up, it’s time to get this dessert in the oven.
How do I make cookie dough bars?
First, heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a 9 x 13 prepared baking dish, cover the bottom with one bag of chocolate chips. I chose white chocolate chips for my cookie dough bars.
Open the cookie dough packages and break each square apart. They will fit perfectly lined up into rows of 4.
Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Use a spoon to push the square dough together, and bake for another 10 minutes.
Place the milk chocolate morsels into a microwave safe bowl and heat on high for 1 minute. Stir, and heat for 1 minute longer until the chocolate is smooth and creamy.
Once you remove the cookie dough from the oven, cover the top of it with the melted chocolate morsels.
You will want the chocolate top to harden a bit before cutting, so you will want to cool it completely. I allow mine to sit at room temperature for one hour, and then place into the refrigerator to speed things up for another 30 minutes if needed.
