Birthday Cupcake Decorating Ideas

This recipe only calls for a few ingredients and if you use a box cake mix these easy princess cupcakes will be done in under 30 minutes.

  • Cupcakes: 1 White boxed cake mix prepared
  • 1 can of your favorite vanilla frosting
  • 1 cup marshmallow fondant or white modeling chocolate
  • Blue GEL food coloring
  • Light blue pearl sprinkles (found at my local grocer)
  • High heeled shoe mold
  • Wax paper (just to set your marshmallow fondant on)
  • Star decorating tip and bag

Prepare 1 white box cake mix

Spoon into lined cupcake pan.

Bake for 30-minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool cupcakes completely before decorating.

Break marshmallow fondant into 12 small pieces.

Press one ball of fondant into a shoe mold shape and pull it out.

Use a butter knife to trim off unwanted portions of the mold that didn’t make it into the shoe shape.

Place shoes into the refrigerator until you’re ready for them.

With your largest decorating tip, press into the top of the cupcake off-center, creating a well. Save hole tops.

Place 1 tablespoon of the blue pearls inside the well in the cupcake. This is such a fun addition to any cupcake.

Replace the hole on top on each cupcake with the cake you cut out.

Mix 2-3 drops of blue food coloring into your vanilla frosting, stirring until the color is consistent hen place your Wilton star tip in a piping bag.

Ingredients
  

  • Cupcakes: 1 White boxed cake mix prepared

  • To make the cupcakes, preheat oven to 350-degrees.
  • Prepare 1 Boxed White Cake Mix
  • Spoon into lined cupcake pan.
  • Bake for 30-minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool cupcakes completely before decorating.
  • Break marshmallow fondant into 12 small pieces.
