Elephant Cupcakes
This recipe only calls for a few ingredients and if you use boxed cake mix cupcakes, it’s a breeze.
What’s needed:
- 6 Prepared Cupcakes – Box cake mix cupcakes are perfect
- 1 Container White Frosting
- 6 Dum Dum lollipops (Bubblegum or Watermelon)
- Edible Pink Glitter
- Black Food Coloring
Bake your cupcakes and allow them to cool completely or buy store-bought un-iced cupcakes.

Start by placing the frosting in a small bowl and add 2-3 drops of black food coloring. Mix well. Add more coloring if you would like it darker. (the final coloring is totally up to you!)

Once you’ve reached your desired coloring, place the frosting in a piping bag or large baggie and snip off the corner.
Pipe the frosting in a circular motion around the cupcake. Now, starting at the back of the cupcake, take the frosting and make a vertical line down the center. This line represents his trunk. Repeat step with remaining cupcakes.

Set the cupcakes aside.
Take and unwrap a dum dum lollipop and dip it in some water. Shake the excess water off and lay them on a plate.
Sprinkle on the edible glitter and make sure to rotate sucker as you go. Stick it in the end of his “trunk” so it looks like Horton is holding the truffula tree.
Repeat these cupcake decorating steps for all cupcakes.
