Penne Pasta with Sausage Recipe
This recipe calls for:
- 2-3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 3-4 sausages of your choice
- 6 cups penne rigate
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 3 cups water
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh chives for garnishing (optional)
This recipe is so simple and you are sure to love it. Let’s get started.
Pour EVOO into the inner pot and set your IP to saute function.
As the Instant Pot, preheats, cut the sausages into bite-sized pieces.
Cook bite-sized sausage pieces in an oiled inner pot, for about 2-3 minutes or until all sides are browned.
Turn off saute function and pour broth and water into the inner pot, making sure to deglaze the bottom of the pot by scraping any burned, brown bits with a wooden spoon.
Add penne into the inner pot, ensuring that it is completely covered in water/broth.
Add your tomato sauce on top.
Close the Instant Pot and set on high manual pressure for 4 minutes. Once the time is up, allow for a QPR (quick pressure release).
Open the Instant Pot and set it to saute.
Add the cream and feel free to add salt and pepper to taste.
