How to Make It

This is how quickly & easily this impressive ring will assemble itself onto your baking sheet.

Prep the Ingredients

Begin by setting your oven at 375°F & placing parchment paper on your baking sheet. Next, combine your Dijon mustard and mayonnaise in a small bowl until smooth.

Season the Chicken

Combine your chopped cooked chicken with your garlic powder and Italian seasonings in a separate bowl. By doing so, every piece of chicken will be perfectly seasoned.

Arrange the Dough

Open your crescent dough and divide into triangles. Place the triangles in a circular pattern on the baking sheet using the wider ends to overlap in the center. Use the pointed ends to face away from you.

Layer the Filling

Apply a thin coat of your mayonnaise/Dijon mustard mixture to the wider overlapping areas of the dough. Apply your sliced deli ham, Swiss cheese, and seasoned chicken equally across the sauce.

Form the Ring

Pull the pointed end of each triangle toward you & fold over the filling. Secure each point under the inside edge of the ring to completely encase everything.

Bake Until Golden

Brush melted butter over the top of the dough. If desired, sprinkle with some fresh parsley. Bake for 25-30 min. Until gold brown crust develops. Allow the ring to sit before cutting.

Tips for Success

  • Store your crescent dough in the refrigerator until you are ready to bake, then let it come to room temperature. This will allow the dough to be easier to shape.
  • Drain excess moisture from the cooked chicken so that it doesn’t make the crust soggy.
  • If the dough is getting too dark before you’ve finished cooking, place a piece of aluminum foil loosely on top for the remainder of the baking time.
  • Let the ring sit for at least 5 minutes prior to cutting. The cheese will have had time to melt and set by this point.
  • Use a serrated blade to cut through the layers of the dough. A regular bread knife will crush the flaky layers of the dough.

Storage Instructions

  • Store: Place leftover slices in an airtight storage container and store in the refrigerator for no longer than four days.
  • Freeze: Place individually wrapped pieces of cooled, baked crescent cordon bleu rings into a freezer-safe plastic bag, seal the bag and freeze for no longer than two months.
  • Reheat: Bake in a 350°F oven or use an air fryer to heat up leftover crescent cordon bleu ring slices.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve as a side dish to a simple green salad tossed in a light vinaigrette.
  • Pair with a side of additional honey mustard or ranch dressing for dipping.
  • Add a few servings of roasted green beans or steamed asparagus for a complete meal.
  • Assemble for your next casual weekend gathering as an easy, quick, delicious and attractive grab-n-go appetizer.
