These 4th of July cupcakes look like they came straight from the bakery, but you can start these with a vanilla box cake mix or your favorite homemade cake recipe. Kids and adults will love making and eating this easy cupcake recipe!

Easy Patriotic Cupcakes

American Flag Cupcakes Recipe
This recipe only calls for a few ingredients, and if you use a box cake mix (like we do) to start, they can be done in less than 30 minutes.
- Prepared Cupcakes
- White Frosting
- Twizzlers Pull-n-Peel Licorice
- Blue Chocolate Pearl Candy (Blue sixlets)
You can switch them out for blueberries if you prefer a fruity topping instead of the candies.

Frost the cupcakes with the vanilla frosting.

Place your 6 blue candies on the top left corner of the cupcakes.
Pull apart the licorice so the licorice strings are individual, and then cut five pieces to fit across one cupcake. The top two pieces will be slightly shorter. Place them so you have white frosting in between each layer.

Repeat decorating all of the remaining cupcakes.
